COACH BAY

Head Coach – NJ Challenge 12U

Certified CUDIT® Hitting/Fielding Coach

C.U. Certified Catching Coach | HLT Certified

​

Coach Bay is a dedicated and experienced coach who brings high-level playing and coaching expertise to the NJ Challenge 12U team. A former NCAA standout at Roger Williams University, she earned All-CCC honors and was a five-time NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.

​

In her first year as head coach, Coach Bay led a brand new 12U team and successfully built a strong foundation, taking the group to the next level in skill, confidence, and team culture. She’s been coaching with NJC for multiple years and is known for her energy, discipline, and ability to connect with athletes.

 

As a respected catching, hitting, and defensive coach at Challenge U., Coach Bay develops confident, competitive players who are prepared to grow both on and off the field.

COACH MICHELLE

Assistant Coach – NJ Challenge 12U

Certified CUDIT® Hitting/Defense Coach | HLT Certified

​

Coach Michelle, also known as “Coach Meeshy”, brings years of coaching experience, deep knowledge of the game, and high energy to the NJ Challenge 12U team. A multi-sport athlete growing up, softball was always her #1. As a standout second baseman and consistent hitter, her playing career was cut short by injury, but it launched her passion for coaching and player development.

​

Michelle has been a key part of the NJC program since its inception, proudly serving as the first-ever head coach in 2021. She has coached at multiple levels within NJC and now plays a crucial role in developing the next generation of athletes as the NJC 12U Assistant Coach.

​

Known for her self-confidence training and high-energy coaching style, Coach Meeshy brings the perfect balance of discipline and fun. She’s passionate about developing the whole athlete—connecting mind and body—and pushes her players to train with grit, focus, and unwavering belief in themselves.

COACH LISA

Head Coach – NJ Challenge 14U

Owner/Founder, Challenge U. Softball® | Creator, National CUDIT® Coaching Program & The VBS System®

​

Coach Lisa is the owner/founder of Challenge U. Softball®, the founding home of NJC Softball. Since launching in 2011, Challenge U. has grown into a premier training facility known for developing confident, skilled athletes and elite-level coaches. Lisa is also the creator of the nationally recognized CUDIT® Coaching Certification and the VBS System®, a mindset training method based on Visualization, Body Language, and Self-Talk.

​

With over 20 years of coaching experience, Coach Lisa is a nationally respected leader in softball instruction and mental performance. Her programs have shaped the journeys of thousands of athletes and coaches across the country.

​

As Head Coach of NJ Challenge 14U, Coach Lisa brings her expertise, energy, and leadership to the field, focusing on development, confidence, and game IQ.

 

​This season, Coach Lisa will serve as the NJC 14U Head Coach from September through March, working alongside Assistant Coach T, her trusted coaching partner since 2021 who brings a strong and positive leadership presence to the dugout.

​

In March, Coach T will step up as Head Coach, and Coach Ally, a CU Clinic Coach since 2020 and former CU athlete personally trained by Lisa, will step in as Assistant Coach as Lisa welcomes twins to her growing family. While stepping back from the dugout, Lisa will remain closely involved, continuing to support athletes and coaches in a hands-on role and helping guide NJC 14U to an entirely new level of development and performance.

COACH T

Asst. Coach – NJ Challenge 14U

High School Varsity Assistant Coach | Club Softball Coach

C.U. Softball Event Partner​

 

With over a decade of softball coaching experience, Coach T brings a proven track record of developing athletes on and off the field. Since 2021, he has been a trusted partner to Coach Lisa in running Challenge U. NCAA Showcase Events, Town Clinics, and seasonal training programs. His leadership has also been instrumental in the success of Fall/Winter Training Programs for Mahwah Softball.

​

As a club coach and program director for the past six years, Coach T has led large-scale tournaments and team development initiatives, bringing structure, energy, and a passion for the game to every level. Currently serving as Assistant Varsity Coach for Mahwah High School and an experienced umpire, he offers athletes a 360-degree view of the game; technical, strategic, and mental.

​

On March 1, Coach T will step into the role of Head Coach for NJ Challenge 14U for Coach Lisa, continuing to lead with the same positivity, structure, and inspiration that define NJC. He believes athletes thrive when led with belief, energy, and motivation, unlocking a new standard of confidence and performance.

COACH ALI

Assistant Coach – NJ Challenge 14U (Beginning March 1)

CU Camp & Clinic Coach | Former CU Trained Athlete

Coach Ali has been part of the Challenge U. family since she was 12 years old, one of Coach Lisa’s earliest trainees. A lifelong athlete, she played competitive softball from age 6 into adulthood, excelling as both a catcher and shortstop. Today, she still plays recreationally and brings that same love for the game to every athlete she works with.

​

Ali has been involved in CU camps and clinics for years, earning a strong reputation for her leadership, relatability, and ability to connect with young athletes.

 

She is currently an elementary school teacher and brings her classroom experience to the field, helping athletes learn, grow, and stay focused in a fun, supportive environment.

​

Coach Ali will officially step in as Assistant Coach for NJC 14U starting March 1, but you’ll see her throughout the season at practices and events. Her energy, consistency, and passion for the program make her a powerful addition to the NJ Challenge coaching staff.

NJC 16U COACHING STAFF 2025/2026

COACH MORGAN

Head Coach – NJ Challenge 16U

Coach Morgan has been an integral part of the NJ Challenge program since 2021, serving as an assistant coach across multiple age groups before stepping into the Head Coach role for NJC 14U. Her leadership, structure, and energy helped guide that team to new heights last season, building strong fundamentals, mental toughness, and a unified team culture.

 

Her coaching style is rooted in clear communication, discipline, and a deep understanding of the game. She holds her athletes to high standards while creating an environment where they feel empowered to push past limits and grow. She takes the time to understand each athlete’s individual goals and works closely with them to build a path toward reaching their full potential.

 

Now leading NJC 16U, Coach Morgan continues to develop confident, competitive athletes with the skills and mindset to succeed at the next level. Known for her vocal leadership, accountability, and passion for the sport, she brings out the best in every player she coaches.

COACH IAM

Asst. Coach – NJ Challenge 16U

Coach Ian, known as “Coach Dude”, has been a valued part of the NJ Challenge coaching staff for multiple years. With his light-hearted energy, unwavering motivation, and genuine passion for athlete development, he’s become a favorite among players and families alike.

​

He previously served as the head coach of NJC 14U White alongside Coach Morgan, where their leadership and chemistry helped elevate the team’s skill set, confidence, and performance. A former Speed & Agility Coach at Challenge U. Softball, Coach Ian brings a well-rounded approach to training. blending technical instruction with a focus on quickness, coordination, and athletic movement.

​

Coach Ian is known for creating an environment where athletes feel supported, energized, and ready to give their best. Whether it’s pushing players to improve or making them laugh between drills, his balance of fun and focus makes him a standout coach in the NJC program. He continues to bring unmatched heart and hustle to every athlete he works with.
